  • 2 tablespoons honey Maple syrup can be a vegan substitute.
  • 2 cloves fresh garlic, minced Freshly minced for best flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated Fresh ginger is recommended.
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil Use olive oil as a substitute if unavailable.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
For the Chicken
  • 4 pieces boneless chicken thighs Opt for fresh, high-quality chicken.
For Topping
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 2 tablespoons green onions, sliced

Method

Preparation
  1. In a medium bowl, combine soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, grated ginger, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Whisk together until smooth.
  2. Add boneless chicken thighs to the bowl, ensuring they are fully coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or up to overnight for deeper flavor.
Cooking
  1. Set your air fryer to 380°F (193°C) and allow it to preheat while your chicken marinates.
  2. Arrange the marinated chicken thighs in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook for 18-22 minutes, flipping halfway through for even crispness.
  3. Once cooked through and golden brown, take out the chicken. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and sliced green onions before serving.

Notes

For best results, marinate the chicken overnight. Adjust cooking times based on your air fryer model. Ensure chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) for safe eating. Let the chicken rest for a few minutes after cooking.
