Ingredients

  • 2 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts Seasoned with Cajun seasoning

For the Pasta
  • 12 oz penne, fettuccine, or spaghetti Use your preferred pasta
For the Sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning For the sauce
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter For making the sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 cup heavy cream For a rich sauce
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese For garnish

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Season the chicken breasts with Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat, then add the chicken and cook until golden brown and cooked through, about 7-8 minutes per side.
  3. Once done, remove from the pan and let rest.
Cooking the Pasta
  1. While the chicken is cooking, bring a large pot of salted water to boil.
  2. Add your chosen pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
  3. Drain, reserving ½ cup of the pasta water.
Making the Sauce
  1. In the same pan used for the chicken, melt butter over medium heat.
  2. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  3. Stir in the Cajun seasoning and smoked paprika, cooking for another minute before adding heavy cream and chicken broth.
  4. Bring this to a gentle simmer and let cook for about 3-5 minutes.
Combining Everything
  1. Slice the cooked chicken and add it to the Cajun cream sauce along with the drained pasta.
  2. Toss everything gently together, adding reserved pasta water as needed to achieve your desired consistency.
