- Lightly season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning on both sides.
Cooking Chicken
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter.
- Once sizzling, add the chicken breasts and sear for about 6-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.
- Transfer the chicken to a plate and cover to keep warm.
Cooking Asparagus
- In the same skillet, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter and then the asparagus.
- Cook for 2-3 minutes until they are tender-crisp.
- Add the minced garlic to the asparagus and stir, cooking for about a minute until fragrant.
Finishing Touches
- Return the chicken to the skillet with the asparagus.
- Sprinkle the grated Parmesan on top and gently toss.
- Serve with a squeeze of lemon on top.
Notes
Control the sear with temperature; a properly preheated skillet yields a golden crust while keeping the interior moist. Rest chicken briefly after cooking to retain juices.
