Preparation
- In a small bowl, combine smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Stir until well mixed.
- Pat the chicken breasts dry with a paper towel and rub the spice mixture evenly over all sides of the chicken.
- Place the seasoned chicken in a single layer in the slow cooker and pour the chicken broth around it.
Cooking
- Cover and cook on LOW for 2.5 to 3.5 hours, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
- Remove the chicken from the slow cooker and let it rest on a cutting board for 5 to 10 minutes before slicing or shredding.
Notes
Don’t overcrowd the slow cooker; timing matters for perfect tenderness. Resting the chicken allows juices to redistribute.
